O/T but quick insurance question - so the shop that “fixed” my Outback in June didn’t get the hood even close to fixed. I can stick an entire finger in one side when its closed and the other side sits below the lip of the fender . I can’t really take it up with the shop because I had to move 700 miles away the day I got it back. (Deer have really bad timing.) To be honest I’m not sure they actually even did any body work to the hood at all, but they definitely charged the insurance company for it... how should I go about getting this resolved?

I would mention it to your adjuster or if you didn’t have one, call the insurer. That being said, it might be tough because it would have been on the shop that did the repair.
